BAAL Extra Virgin Olive Oil

100% Extra Virgin Olive Oil. Our olives are handpicked exclusively from our family’s olive groves in North Lebanon and are pressed within hours of harvest, to create the highest quality olive oil rich in anti-oxidants. We hand-pick the native Souri and Baladi olives young and then cold-press them, yielding a greener oil, longer shelf life, and higher concentration of polyphenols. BAAL Extra Virgin Olive Oil is unrefined and unfiltered, which gives it its beautiful cloudy texture and comes in a 500mL bottle—each bottle is individually numbered and hand-dipped in wax to preserve its freshness. Our 500mL bottle is 100% plastic free—made of glass. Absolutely nothing—NOTHING—is added to our olive oil resulting in the most delicious, premium Extra Virgin Olive Oil.

Tasting Notes: Sweet and fruity aroma start, with a spicy rocket & citrus, peppery finish.

Uses: Use in a crisp tabbouleh salad, drizzle on top of homemade labneh or a charcoal-grilled Barbounia, or use to make an olive oil cake or olive oil gelato.

Did you know? BAAL was started as a project with ambitious goals: to preserve Lebanon’s historic olive oil production heritage, to ensure our olive groves remain fruitful and profitable preventing further urbanization and deforestation in Lebanon, to create a sustainable livelihood in Lebanon for the individuals involved in our olive oil production, and of course, to put Lebanese olive oil on the map. With every bottle you purchase, you are helping us achieve these goals! We bottle entirely in North Lebanon, promoting small producers and sustainable farming.

Did you know? After harvesting our Olive Oil, because it is unfiltered, we allow it to sit for several months in large, tightly sealed stainless steel containers in order for the sediments in the olive oil to naturally sink to the bottom, so that when we bottle our olive oil several months later (around March or April of the next year), these sediments are mostly removed allowing for a crisper, cleaner taste and color!
